We are delighted to be involved in the £45 million restoration project which will see Grade 1 listed Theatre Royal in Drury Lane regain its status as the prime venue for musical theatre in London. The refurbishment which commenced in January 2019 takes place over a 20 month period. It will be a complete internal and external refurbishment resulting in improved accessibility: wider, seats, more legroom and better sightlines for theatre goers. New bars, cafes and restaurants will also be created.
Coventry Scaffolding’s services include providing scaffolding to the external façade, auditorium and ornate ceilings as well as the stage area. The external scaffold is wrapped in shrink wrap sheeting advertising the Disney musical Frozen, which will be the first show at the newly refurbished theatre. The wrapping not only hides the works going on behind the scenes but also The Management Contractor’s offices which are hidden behind the sheeting on a gantry above the main entrance to the theatre.
