It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our former Managing Director, John Hanifan, in the early hours of Saturday 24th February 2024.
John started working at Coventry Scaffolding as a teenager way back in the 1950s, following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, and worked his way up from Yard Labourer to Scaffolder, Supervisor, Estimator, Shareholder, Director and eventually Managing Director, retiring in 1999.
He was integral to the work we carried out at the various Royal Palaces in and around London and, in particular, our work at Buckingham Palace throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s. The longevity of this work for the Royal Household, culminated in us being granted the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 2005. John was involved in countless other successful projects for our company.
Paul and Perry Hanifan (John’s cousins) would like to recognise the contribution John made to the history of Coventry Scaffolding.
