Following recently issued government advice for the construction industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to give a brief update on how we are operating during this period.
In his letter to the construction industry on 31st March, the Secretary of State clarified that workers in the building sector are allowed to continue working, and travelling to work, under current government rules in accordance with the Chief Medical Officer’s advice.
At Coventry the health and safety of our staff, customers and members of the public have always been, and continue to be, our top priority. With this in mind, our staff are free to decide whether to continue working at this time, and they will not be penalised if they choose not to do so.
To ensure the safety of those who do choose to work during this period, we are following the Construction Leadership Council’s Site Operating Procedures, at the advice of the UK government and Public Health England. We continue to monitor the situation closely, adhering to government advice and updating our employees regularly.
We remain operational as providers of an essential service. As many of you may know, we have a long history of providing emergency scaffolding services and are ready and available to assist 24/7 should it be required. We will continue with existing work and we are also available to take on new projects during this period.
